The National Alumni Association of the Tai Solarin University, Ijagun, Ogun State recently sworn in its newly elected officers.
The ceremony which took place at the Senate Chamber had in attendance the Vice Chancellor, Professor Segun Awonusi represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Joseph Olusanya. In his welcome address, the President of the Association, Mr Uthman Tajudeen Oluwasegun commended members of the caretaker committee for the upliftment of the Association. He also disclosed that the Association has doled out #250,000 as scholarship to indigent students of the institution.
In his response, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Awonusi urged the new executives not to forget the fact that the Association is a major stakeholder in the University and as such, guide jealously the image of the institution and always be good ambassadors.
Prof. Awonusi further advised the new executives to be transparent in the running of affairs of the Association and pledged the support of the Management towards the development of the Alumni Association.
