CONFERENCE OF ALUMNI ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES (CAANU) APPEALS TO OGUN STATE GOVERNMENT ON TASUED/OOU MERGER
The Conference of Alumni Association of Nigerian Universities (CAANU) have called on the Ogun State Government to have a rethink on its decision to convert TASUED into an Institute of Education under the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye.
This was revealed in a communiqué signed by the association’s chairman, Chief Richard Oma Ahonaruogbo; the secretary; Malam Chuks Agoha and the Public Relations Officer, Pastor Adebowale Adelakun in a communiqué issued at the end of its quarterly conference held recently at the Lagos State University, Ojo
It further added that, “the conference noted Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) being the first of its kind in Nigeria and given its track record, particularly in the area of the provision of entrepreneurship and vocational training as part of its curriculum, should be supported to continue as a full-fledged University”. The communiqué further added, “Conference commends the Ogun State House of Assembly and the National Universities Commission (NUC) for their intervention in this matter and urge that the Ogun State Government should rethink its position”. |
