The Tai Solarin University of Education graduated its premier set of graduates  on the 28th of November 2006. The university was agog as the landmark event took place on the campus in the school hall. Many dignitaries attended the ceremony chaired by the Visitor that is the Governor of Ogun State His Excellency Otunba Gbenga Daniel. The graduants were all aglow being the first products of the premier university of education in Nigeria. The former Tai Solarin Collge of Education was awarded a degree awarding status in 2005 and certified by th NUC as a university of education.

A number of honorary doctorates were given to well deserving citizens of the country, men and women who have excelled in their chosen works of life. The adminnistrator of Ekiti state was also formall decorated as the first chancellor of the university.

The school has a vision to build teachers of content and pedagogy, and since inception as steadily with the full support of the state goverment  moved towards the attainment of its goals and objectives.
