TASUED WINS AFRICA’S MOST OUTSTANDING UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION AWARD
History was recently made again at the Government House Valley View Hall, Oke-Igbehin, Abeokuta when the nation’s premier university of education, Tai Solarin University of Education was honoured with the Africa’s Most Outstanding University of Education by All Africa Students Association (AASU), a continental representative organization of all students in the continent and in the Diaspora.
Presenting the award to the Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, who received the award on behalf of the University, the Executive Secretary of the Association, Mr. Oludare Ogunlana noted that TASUED has distinguished itself from all other Universities in the country in the areas of academic and infrastructural development.
He commended the efforts of the university management led by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Olukayode Oyesiku for his commitment and pragmatic leadership towards the growth of the institution.
Giving insight into the justification of the award to TASUED, a member of the Association, Mr. Wole Babalola said out of the selected Universities of Education in Africa, Tai Solarin University of Education was adjudged best in terms of her outstanding academic standard and international recognition.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, who is also a visitor to the University congratulated the Vice Chancellor, Professor Olukayode Oyesiku for the honour bestowed on him in recognition of his immense contributions to the development of education in Ogun State, especially in making Tai Solarin University of Education a reference point among other institutions.
